The staff were lovely, and breakfast was good. The rooms could have been cleaner, though, and the service felt a bit too laid-back. The pool was nice, but since the pool bar wasn’t open, we had to buy drinks at the supermarket.

A spacious, comfortable room that was very clean, plus a nice balcony and a good location.

For the first night at Ates Hotel, I had a lovely, clean room with a spacious bathroom and a shower cabin. The second night was a different experience. We’d called well in advance and asked specifically for a room in the main building overlooking the pool. The man on the phone said they’d arrange it when we arrived, but our request was ignored. They put us in an annex. At first we thought the room was nice, until we saw the dusty, dirty balcony and the bathroom without a shower cabin. It was a disaster, and the cupboard drawers seemed to have been left uncleaned too. I wish the service had matched my first stay.
