Ayka Otel

The location is great, just a couple of minutes from a lovely beach, and the small pool was nice too. Our spotless room had air conditioning, a fridge and a kettle, though the window faced a wall. Since we were there only one night, we didn't ask to move, but would have if staying longer. Breakfast was the letdown: it was meant to start at 8, but when we went down at 8.15 only three items were out. The full spread wasn't ready until 8.50. Maybe it was just an off morning.

Ayka Hotel is tucked just off the main promenade, so it felt peaceful while still being only about 5-8 minutes from the nightlife area. It's also close to the beach. We liked the pool, especially from the ground floor, where you can open a window and step straight out to it. The owner was lovely and thoughtful, and she and the staff kept the rooms fresh and very clean. Breakfast had plenty to choose from, including fruit, salads, cheeses and baked goods. Prices were reasonable too. I'd definitely recommend it.

The staff were very nice, and the setting is away from the bustle with pleasant paths leading to swimming spots. The location made up for a couple of room drawbacks: the rooms are tiny, you can hear noise between them, and the bedding is Turkish style, with only a light top blanket.

We only got to stay one night and wished we could have stayed longer. The view was gorgeous, the rooms were really clean, and breakfast was a tasty buffet. Everyone on staff was so kind and nice. See you next year, Ayka.
