Urgup Inn Cave Hotel

Breakfast had plenty of choice and was excellent. The staff were personable, the room was clean, and there was a safe place to park my scooter. Our room was small but well appointed, though it felt like a room built from stone rather than a cave. That description seems common around this region. It’s not too far from the city, and I enjoyed our stay. At the time we were there in Oct 25, part of the huge rock that shadows the hotel had given way, closing the street outside. Clearance work was underway, and the workmen didn’t appreciate spectators. Motorbikes and pedestrians could get through the barrier, but cars might have more trouble, especially with luggage. Approach from the lower end of the street or call the hotel for advice. It’s a steep hill to climb if you can’t park outside.

A beautiful, very nice hotel. I only spoke with the owner briefly, but he walked me in and stayed to watch me go inside. You could feel how genuine he was. It was a really meaningful human moment.

I began my first trip to Turkey in Capadocia, and this was my first hotel there. It felt like home, with a very nice, friendly owner and awesome service. I also loved the food menu. On the first night, I had a lovely dinner with food and wine beside the fireplace.

It’s a family-run boutique hotel with a historic feel, and I loved the hospitality and authenticity. The capacity is only 30 people. Some cave rooms have two floors and may have a slight antique smell, but ours had a fireplace and a window. We liked the traditional decor, and breakfast was included as a buffet. You feel welcome here.
