ASPAT HOTEL BODRUM - Beach Restaurant

The private beach they advertise doesn’t exist, and the hotel isn’t worth 50€/night. The pool had water and what looked like a truckload of bacteria in it. I wouldn’t recommend swimming there. The rooms are small and poorly maintained. Internet kept cutting out and barely reached the rooms. Breakfast was buffet style, with hardly any choice, and Nescafe was the only coffee. The promised bottled water wasn’t in the room. Staff could only speak Turkish and blamed every problem on the boss.

We got caught in traffic during the Eid holidays in Turkey and arrived at 9:00 pm, but they welcomed us warmly and check-in went smoothly. The staff were very nice and helpful. You’ll need a car to reach the hotel, and it’s almost a 20-minute drive from Bodrum city center. The setting in Bodrum’s beautiful nature is fantastic. Rooms are arranged down the mountain slope, looking out over the Aegean Sea, and each has a balcony with seats and a lovely view. Every room has its own bathroom with a hairdryer and AC. Breakfast was very good, with lots to choose from. I definitely recommend it, you get more than you pay for.

Our friends had concerns about the hotel too, and when they posted comments, the owner called them personally and threatened to make them eat their comments. They left at once with their almost newborn baby and went back to Istanbul, even though they had four paid days remaining. It had a bit of a mafia feel. Given all that, I can’t recommend the place, except perhaps for one night in an emergency. This was my first hotel experience in Turkey, a huge disappointment, and I may never return. There were serious issues with the internet, since the Wi-Fi modem was barely visible from the rooms. Breakfast was included, but if you ate more than you were supposedly meant to, they’d make a point of saying so. On our fourth night, the air conditioner splashed water in our faces as we slept. The shower head kept falling off, and I tried to fix it myself. The soap was the cheapest quality and there wasn’t much of it. I’m attaching a photo. The room was unhygienic when we arrived, as others had complained too. The fridge hadn’t been cleaned, the cupboards were dusty, and the floor and bathroom were dirty. When my girlfriend mentioned the hygiene issue on the phone and said we wanted our money back, the owner rudely told her to leave the hotel immediately. I didn’t understand what he was saying at the time. After that tense call, we were moved to a supposedly freshly cleaned, relatively better room, but it wasn’t much cleaner. I’ve stayed in many hotels across countless countries, and never had an experience like the Aspat Hotel.

We came here on holiday and loved the perfect view. It’s a very good hotel. Thanks to Mr. Ali.
