Grand Hotel De Pera

The breakfast has a nice view, and the food quality was okay, and I was able to check in at 8am, the earliest I've ever managed at a hotel. They also carried my bag up to the room. But I don't think this deserves four stars. People smoked on our floor, and when I told reception, they sent an employee to speak to the room, though the receptionist's expression made smoking seem acceptable. That's alarming. We asked for extra blankets, but they brought none, even though the receptionist said they'd send one. The walls shook whenever our neighbors shut their doors, and the bar music continued late, so light sleepers should keep that in mind. The ceiling was dripping when I first entered the room. They fixed it, but why hadn't anyone reported it while preparing the room? I wouldn't recommend the hotel.

We had a great stay, and the room was comfortable. Breakfast was good, and the pool and sauna were enjoyable, though the gym wasn't well maintained. Keep in mind that the Gaia cocktail bar is on the rooftop, so music and noise may carry until 1am. The staff were a big part of what made the visit memorable, especially Olcay. From the moment we arrived, he made sure we felt welcome and looked after. He was professional and polite.

Emir and Hasan gave us a warm welcome in the lobby and were really professional. We loved the clean hotel and the service. I definitely plan to come back, and I'd recommend it to everyone.

The rooms are a little small, but nicely appointed, very soundproof, and have a superb shower. The pool, sauna, and massage facilities were a real bonus. The staff were so helpful, from reception to housekeeping and the kitchen, and they worked well as a team. Great service and location, with excellent value for money. I'll definitely return.
