Alaiye Kleopatra

Mehmet at reception can explain the different spa programmes and help choose one to suit you. I usually book a few massages with Bahar, who does a great job. The spa and sauna are the best I’ve found in the area, and they’re conveniently close to the rooms and very competitively priced. There’s also a heated indoor pool and a brilliant sauna. I’ve stayed here several times and keep coming back. The hotel and its services are great, and all the staff are really helpful. Do yourself a favour and try this treat.

The staff were friendly enough, but I don’t understand how this place was rated four stars. Three at most, and the rating needs reviewing. WiFi didn’t reach our room, so I paid for roaming throughout the stay unless I went to the lobby each night. The bar drinks tasted watered down, the food choices were very limited, and none of the meat dishes tasted good. My friend and I had upset stomachs most nights. I also reported the broken TV, but it took three days to get repaired.

We didn’t enjoy the stay enough, even though staff tried to arrange activities. Communication was difficult since many of them didn’t speak English, and the room had a strong smell as soon as we walked in. It came from the bathroom pipes and got especially bad after a shower. We told the manager three times over three or four days, but nothing was fixed. Housekeeping was frustrating too. If we asked them to return later, they often didn’t come back unless we called again, and sometimes refused. I even had to ask for the floor to be cleaned properly with soap and water, which should be routine in a hotel. The experience fell short of what my girlfriend and I expected.

The staff and service at the hotel were excellent. But if the government keeps murdering stray dogs, I won’t return to Turkey :(
