Bariscan Hotel

The bossman was really nice, but that’s about all I can say for this hotel. The Wi-Fi was awful and costs extra, the food was mediocre, and the pool was only open for four hours a day. It was packed with families and kids, the AC barely worked, and the lifts were awful. Just rubbish. Never again.

A big thank you to SADAF and HAKAN. They were always busy but kept smiling and treated everyone equally, and they made the stay good for me and my friend. The hotel itself was just okay. Hygiene wasn’t great: I found a pillow with a big blood stain on it, although the cleaners were very nice. The bar, dining room, and pool areas were always spotless. There wasn’t much food variety, but what they served was healthy and nicely presented. GULHAN, the “manager,” was extremely welcoming and hospitable if you were Russian. As a woman from another country who can’t speak Turkish or Russian, I was treated very rudely. I don’t know how she treated men, but I found her absolutely vile and can’t understand how she got a manager’s role when she wasn’t fit to be a cleaner. I strongly believe the management should be changed. This hotel could be genuinely nice.

We spent two weeks here all-inclusive, and it was the worst holiday we’ve had. On arrival there was no fridge or kettle in the room, and the towels were dirty. We had to pay £40 for Wi-Fi for two weeks, and that only covered one phone. Using another phone or an iPad meant paying again. The safe cost another £25, which disgusted me. Our room wasn’t cleaned every day, and drinks kept running out. I was left with cola because the only options were gin, vodka, or one beer, when they had any. The so-called private beach was a joke. Nobody from our hotel was there, anyone could go in, and it was a 10-15 minute walk away. At the hotel pool, the slide was open for just one hour a day and was broken for two days. There was no evening entertainment at all, just Metro local radio playing over and over, and music only came on at random times. The food was the same every day, mostly lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber, and more salad. We ended up going out for entertainment and food we could actually eat. It was a huge waste of money, and I was glad to get home. Don’t go.
