Boulevard Hotel

I had a great stay overall, TY. The one bad thing was the sunbed towel rule: if towels are only allowed out after 7 in the morning, a poolkeeper should actually enforce it and remove ones put down earlier.

The location was the best part. It’s easy to walk by the beach and boulevard, although some taxi drivers don’t know the hotel. There were some decent things: staff were friendly apart from reception, the pool area looked okay and was simple to use, and the food was fine as long as you don’t expect gourmet meals. Drinks were very basic, but available. A few things really bothered us. We had to pay 10 euro for a stained, discolored sheet that was probably already dirty. We hadn’t worn dark clothes to bed. Check the room and beds and take photos of anything odd, because the receptionist may try to charge you for it. The room was noisy, especially with traffic coming through the poorly insulated balcony door, and the shower was awkward to use. Wifi usually didn’t work upstairs, though the lobby was better. The restaurant manager was strange with us, barely greeting us while chatting with older guests, then yelling at staff and sending them away in the middle of the dining area. Letting guests see that seemed very amateurish.

The hotel is conveniently placed for both the center and beach. Front desk and restaurant staff were very friendly, but the pool bar boys had a poor attitude. They spoke English when it suited them. I raised their customer service and behavior with the restaurant manager, but nothing changed. Once, they were speaking Turkish among themselves, then laughing and looking at me. It felt antisocial, and I got the impression they were talking about me. They won’t see me at this hotel again.

We’re big fans of Otel Bouleward and have stayed five times. It’s a fantastic adults-only hotel, close to town and the beach, and the staff are so sweet and smiley. That matters a lot to us. We’ve just found out that Seda and Uguru, the two loveliest people at reception, have been dismissed. We think that’s really unfortunate, and now we’re unsure whether we’ll come back, since they were a big part of why we picked this hotel. Janie and Mogens Heitmann
