Calido Sol Hotel

The private beach was lovely even though it’s pebbly, and the lifeguards were brilliant with our 4 boys. Tuna was welcoming and helpful, as were the reception team. The animation team was great and there was always something happening during the day. The hotel itself was clean and lovely. The staff worked hard to keep it shipshape, so anyone calling it unclean may be seeing the mess guests leave during the day. Food was okay with plenty to choose from. I’d recommend looking around before filling your plate so you can put together a proper dinner instead of grabbing random favorites. The location let me down because I like being able to walk out of a hotel and find things nearby. There’s not much around, and it’s on a main road. If you’re happy staying on the complex, it’s a good fit. Some Turkish guests were incredibly rude, often pushing in and not caring. What frustrated me more was that bar staff didn’t react. This is an honest review: for the money, the hotel was brilliant, and we’d recommend it.

The hotel looks nice and the staff are friendly, but I wouldn’t return. I’ve been to Turkey before and never had this kind of experience. You can find a better place. Room cleaning wasn’t done properly. The sheets weren’t changed daily, and the bedding in our baby cot wasn’t changed at all during our stay. The attached toilet smelled really bad and the smell spread through the room. Food was okay, but there wasn’t much variety compared with other hotels. Both of my kids had upset stomachs and were vomiting by the end of the trip. Our guide was absolutely useless. He booked a trip and said we could change it or message him if we needed anything. Once he had the money, he stopped replying to us.

The only decent thing was that our room was clean to an acceptable standard. When we arrived, they put us in a box room so small there wasn’t even room to stand up properly. We had to pay a £75 charge to upgrade. That room wasn’t shown in the photos, and we couldn’t see it online. This isn’t a 5-star hotel. The food was shocking, the location terrible, and people inside and outside were rude. Staff were a mixed bag, some rude, some polite and helpful. I’d never recommend staying here or come back myself. There are pictures online of maggots in the food, so avoid this place.

The water aerobics were lots of fun and very well run by lovely Sam, who couldn’t do enough for us. Nothing seemed like too much trouble. The sports activities were well organized too, and the entertainment team was great. Stunning hotel. Big thank you!
