Hawaii Suite Beach Hotel

For a week all inclusive with flights at €350, I can live with the food being the one thing I'd criticize. The hotel is good value for money, and the service was much better than I expected. Staff were very friendly and attentive, and would get you what you needed as soon as you asked, without extra charges or hassle. They even brought a lovely cake to our room for my wife's birthday. I'd recommend the place for a shopping and sun holiday.

We still had an amazing holiday because we ate out, but I personally wouldn't stay here again. The location was the best part. The food selection was limited, and we only ate at the hotel twice. Staff tried with English speaking guests, but there was a language barrier. Even though it was all inclusive, I asked for a large cola in a bigger glass because the small ones held about three sips, and was told I couldn't have one. I don't know why. We were also charged another £150 on arrival. They said we had an economy room and that the balcony room we'd already paid for was the extra £150. Rooms weren't cleaned thoroughly. I arrived with clean white socks and they were ruined by the floor. The room fridge label said it was only for things bought at the hotel. There was banging from doors all day and night, and one evening we found dirty sheets on the bed. Personal details, including phone numbers, weren't kept confidential. We met friends while we were there, then a staff member started messaging one of them. When she complained to the manager, management said she must have given the staff member her details, which hadn't happened.

The only thing going for this place is the location, across the road from a beautiful beach with lovely water. The food was terrible. They could at least have a small selection of nuggets and chips for young children, since most English kids won't eat Turkish food. We booked all inclusive but paid for at least one full meal outside the hotel every day because the family kept having stomach issues. The woman running reception was rude and angry, and seemed ready to charge extra for any small issue. Some fruit shoot got on a towel, and she tried to charge me 400 TL for a stain my partner washed out in the sink. One male staff member who looks like Mr Bean kept touching my son's face and clicking his fingers around his ears. He was also seen taking ear defenders off an autistic child's head and laughing. We had to tell him forcefully to keep his hands off my 6 year old. There was only one AC unit for two rooms, so sleeping was uncomfortable in the heat. The rules about bringing shop snacks into the hotel were ridiculous, and the pool closed too early. All the locals we met laughed at us for staying here.

The staff deserve five stars. They were always friendly to us, though the spa and tattoo service workers came by every day asking if we wanted a service. The location was great, right across from the beach, where we spent most of our time. The pool area was nearly always full because people saved beds with towels early in the morning, then showed up three hours later. I thought that was rude. The rooms were okay and clean, with cleaning staff coming every day. We booked all inclusive, but it felt more like three meals and a couple of ordinary drinks. Cocktails cost extra, as did ice cream, soft drinks from the fridge, and Wi-Fi. That's a lot of add-ons for a holiday we'd already paid too much for. Food was middling: the dishes rotated, but it felt like the same things, sometimes good and sometimes hard to eat. There was almost no fruit apart from watermelon. For me, this place earned its three stars, but it wasn't worth what we paid. I wouldn't return. If I'd known, I'd have spent my money elsewhere instead of at this so-called all inclusive hotel where you pay extra for everything.
