Insula Resort & Spa

My parents had a wonderful seven-day stay. The hotel has a lot of culture, lovely people, and hardworking staff. Please respect their habits, add a bit more hygiene to your routine, especially in shared places like the pool, and keep smiling.

The entertainment at Insula Spa & Hotel kept things lively, with activities, performances, spa time, and fun events. The staff were friendly, communicative, and always ready to help with a warm smile. From arrival onward, the service felt thoughtful and professional, and the whole stay was relaxing and enjoyable. I’d highly recommend Insula Spa & Hotel for a memorable getaway. It really sets a high bar for hospitality.

The food was usually tasty, but very repetitive, and we saw a large cockroach in the main restaurant. Many people came down with stomach flu or something similar, with vomiting and fever. My mother was among them and needed medical attention. Communication with the insurance was difficult because they spoke only Russian, so we had to pay 350 euro at the clinic. Our room was small and dirty, above the restaurant, and the balcony was unusable because of the constant smell of fried food. The corridor was never cleaned during the week we were there. The room was cleaned once, and towels were changed once in seven days. You can get beach towels from 8:00 and have to return them by 18:30. If you stay at the beach later, you have to take them with you. When I tried to exchange them at noon, I was told I couldn’t and had to wait until 18:30, even though we’d already used them for several days. The sea was rocky, dirty, and hard to get into. There weren’t enough sunbeds for the hotel, so we had to send someone at 6:30-7:00 in the morning to reserve some. Almost nobody spoke English, and without Russian you were in trouble. The staff weren’t very friendly or attentive. They often took plates without asking if we’d finished, sometimes while we were still eating. The alcohol was awful, and the entertainment seemed aimed only at little kids. My holiday was ruined, and we’d never return to this region.

We’re still here, but at least we’re leaving soon. The food is bad and the same every day. Dishes are dirty or broken, equipment is broken, and there’s no lifeguard at the pool. Some drunk minors played pranks on guests, but reception didn’t care. All four staff there would rather talk with one customer. Some staff are unfriendly too. The gözleme station shuts whenever they feel like it, sometimes early, and staff chat instead of cooking. There’s no proper queue priority. The animation team called our group Alkash (drunks), Kolhoz (rednecks), or Vodka/Whiskey for groups with kids. They were active, sure, but not normal. Most of all, this isn’t a five-star hotel or UAI. It’s an average four-star place with AI. I suspect a lot of the reviews are fake.
