Kleopatra Smile Hotel

The location is amazing, just a five-minute walk from the best beach in the region, and in hot season we paid only 40 euros a night. There’s a refrigerator in the room, and a nearby fish market where you can buy fish to be cooked nearby. The rooms are old, and small things like the shower fixtures and the toilet or balcony doors don’t work perfectly, but the room was usable overall, except for the air conditioning. It’s a three-star hotel, so the low price comes with issues. During our week, the water was off for several hours twice, and the elevator was out about a third of the time. The AC ignored its +30℃ temperature limit. I woke up cold, the room was definitely below +20℃, and I got sick for three days. We eventually attached a blanket to the unit so it blew weakly and didn’t cool so much. The internet didn’t work during the hours it was supposed to, breakfast was very monotonous, and hot water only came from the tap after 9-10 am because the roof tanks were heated by the sun. That seems fairly common in Turkey. One time, the elevator broke while my friends were inside. It was over +40℃, and by the time they got out a few minutes later, they were soaked with sweat. They couldn’t shower that evening because there was no water. I recommend the place if you understand why a hotel in such a good location costs less than its neighbors.
