Lavinia Apart Hotel

The pool was lovely and the kids enjoyed swimming, and it’s a lovely location. We were able to get a good deal from one desk staff member for two rooms for four days, but several things made our first holiday experience here, a year ago, difficult. Air conditioning wasn’t included in the package and cost extra. The cleaning was poor. One day they came into my room and didn’t clean anything, and they didn’t change the sheets or give us fresh towels. There was broken glass and a vape under the sofa bed in my kids’ apartment from before our stay, and they didn’t have a proper bed in the second room. The air conditioning dripped all night before it was fixed the next day. We were blamed for a broken toilet seat that was already broken, and had to pay before they’d let us leave. They said they couldn’t give us a receipt and we’d have to wait three hours for the manager, but we needed to get to the airport. A nice chap at reception understood and sorted out the receipt for the “damage.” Some staff were nice; others had an attitude problem. There was currency exchange at reception 24-7. The place needs a lot of upgrading and the staff need better training. I hope it’s improved over the year.

The pool is a great amenity and the location is good, about a 30-minute walk from the centre of Alanya. The rooms were okay, with modern doors that hide somewhat dated interiors. Food and drinks at the bar were overpriced, and the tiramisu I got was still frozen. Cleaning seemed random and wasn’t very effective. Air conditioning was ridiculously expensive, so we managed without it thanks to the balcony. Don’t rely on any representative phone numbers they give you. Use only the one from your package company, since they’re reputable and properly insured. The booking wasn’t in my name.

I’m back for my second stay, and the staff have impressed me again. They’re very friendly, and the night shift guy has become a good friend. The rooms look clean on the surface, though the vents and corners could use more attention. Still, they feel good overall. You have to buy toilet paper, but it isn’t too expensive. The food is very good and comes from a clean kitchen. I’ll be back many times :)

The cleaning staff are so sweet and do a good job. The rooms are clean, and the beds are quite good for the generally low standard. It feels more like a two-star hotel, though the pool is very nice and seems clean, more like a three- or four-star feature. There was an ant infestation in our room, and the staff didn’t seem to care. The employees weren’t very friendly and don’t speak English, which can be tricky. They tried to push us into a special deal for breakfast for a week, and they charge extra for everything. The brochure said wifi, air conditioning, a safe deposit box and even toilet paper were included, but they all cost extra, and not cheaply. That was really annoying.
