The reception worker did move us to a better room, which is the reason I’m giving two stars. I’d booked two weeks ahead and paid extra after asking for a better room, but we were first put on the ground floor in a room with a flooded bathroom. The replacement was better, though still very dirty. I don’t understand how this hotel has more than four stars. I wouldn’t recommend it. They need to do a lot more cleaning.

The apartment was roomy, well located, and reasonably priced, but it was one of the noisiest places I’ve stayed. The soundproofing is really poor, you can hear other people using the toilet, and some guests make a lot of noise, especially at night. Management doesn’t seem to care about that either.

The staff’s attitude was the best part. They let us check in early because nobody had stayed in the room before us, and kept my rather large bags while I went back to the airport. The location was good and the staff were friendly and tried to make us comfortable. The rooms were clean in some respects, and the washroom was fine, but there was dust in the corners and dirt around the plugs. I’m not sure how long the room had been unused. We were there for three days in February, and the heater wasn’t working properly. We had to call someone twice, then staff brought an electric heater and said the fix was temporary. The manager should have checked it before assigning the room, since it got cold. There was repair work going on too, with loud talking and other noise during the day. Even the workers’ casual conversations woke us up. The two-bed room also didn’t match the Airbnb photos I’d seen. Maybe that’s a bit unfair, but I expected a proper couch area, not a desk with two chairs. The twin beds were missing the side table shown between them. It could be a decent place if you need that location for a daily chore.

A Apart Otel gave us good service for four days, and it’s a great value if you don’t want to spend too much. There are lots of cafes, restaurants, and parks nearby, and the neighbourhood felt safe. It’s a great spot in Ankara, and I’d stay there again on a future trip.
