Ankuva Hotel

My family spent 20 days at this hotel. On Sunday night, the night manager was extremely rude to my mother and me. He shouted at and berated us throughout the interaction, threatened to kick us out, then locked my mother out of her room when she went back upstairs. This happened because of his incompetence and what seemed like clear racism. Don't go anywhere near this hotel!

The street noise kept me from sleeping, the air conditioning didn't work, and there was no Wi-Fi. Even the water tasted strange. The food was cold and tasteless, and might have been stale. The rooms were filthy, with stained sheets, dusty surfaces, and bathrooms that smelled foul. Staff were shockingly rude and unprofessional, acting as though doing their jobs was a favor. Staying at Ankuva Hotel was a nightmare from beginning to end. I'd give it zero stars if I could. It felt like a rundown hostel crossed with a haunted house, and this place shouldn't call itself a hotel. Spend your money somewhere else.

The rooms were clean and big enough, and getting around was easy since the hotel is right in the city centre, in Kizilay. There are plenty of shops in the area. I had the breakfast buffet and liked the range of cheese platters. I also met the chef, who has experience at different hotels. I'd read lots of bad comments, but as far as I know the management changed a few weeks ago. When I visited, the hotel was very nice. It's convenient for a business trip or a short stay. Mr. Akyildiz was especially accommodating and professional, and I wanted to thank him. Wishing the new management all the best.

The view over Ankara was stunning, especially at summer sunset. Breakfast was delicious and had a big selection, and the staff were attentive and helpful. You can tell the new management is working hard to make guests comfortable and see that they have what they need. The hotel has been completely renovated and is centrally located, with private parking. My room was very clean, with new furniture and air conditioning. It's very good value for money, and I can recommend it without hesitation.
