Ilci Residence Hotel

The rooms are practical and spacious enough to settle into, and the prices are reasonable. I spent more than three weeks at İlci Residence in Ankara, and it proved comfortable and dependable for a longer stay. The staff stayed warm, helpful, and welcoming the whole time. For an extended visit, comfort and consistency matter more to me than luxury, and this place delivers that. It's a straightforward, pleasant option.

The pool was almost unusable because the water was very cold, and the gym and steam sauna were out of order. The location and breakfast were good, but the receptionists in particular were very rude. They charged me for things I hadn't been told about. The rooms need a full renovation, the carpets were very dirty, and there was a smell of smoke everywhere.

I'm adding proof that I stayed here so the manager can't say I never did 😬 Please read this carefully. The rooms and shared areas smelled of cigarettes and sewage, and stained carpets were everywhere. The beds were all twin beds even though we requested a Queen bed. The refrigerators didn't work, there was no iron or tissues in the room, and they charge you if you get their towels dirty. Their website says kids stay free, but they charged us for my child. The sauna and Hammam didn't work, and you have to book an appointment. They also wouldn't let you sit in the lobby and sent you back to your room. Staff were rude, barking at you and hushing you like you were in a hospital. Even with a “don't disturb” tag up, cleaners came into the room. They don't understand English. And they steal your money. Don't go to this hotel.

Smoke kept coming into my room, and the room itself was dirty. I asked the front desk to move me, but the man refused and said he'd bring room spray. I don't know how he thought that would help. He said he'd bring it soon, but never did. The smell lasted until midnight, then came back at 7 am. Someone was obviously smoking indoors, and they knew about it. Worst experience ever.
