There were plenty of cafes, restaurants, little shops and even a taxi stand nearby, and it took about 15-20 minutes to walk to Ataturk Boulevard and Kizilay station. The apartment had useful basics like a washing machine and strong WiFi, though no microwave, which you'd expect in an apartment. The cracked pane in one kitchen window was another issue. More seriously, insects kept getting inside from the garden, even with the doors and windows shut. On day two we showed the housekeeper, who had come to look at the water heater, the ants and insects in the bedroom. She didn't seem concerned and nothing was done. Hot water also kept cutting out because the heater switched itself off, so we had to restart it repeatedly. We stayed six nights, and although staff told me cleaning happened every three days, the apartment wasn't cleaned once. Messaging the manager on WhatsApp was hit or miss, with long delays and periods of no response. I tried calling, but the manager spoke little or no English, so we couldn't have a voice conversation. From my experience in similar serviced apartments, this host was unresponsive and close to rude. It made for a disappointing stay.
