Royal Deniz Hotel

The affordable rate was a saving grace, and the room was impeccably clean. Still, my stay at the new Royal Deniz Hotel was a mixed experience. Construction noise kept bothering me, there was no AC and the room got uncomfortably hot, and breakfast was disappointing.

I've stayed here twice, including four days on my second trip back to Ankara. My first visit was so my fiance could get a visa, but the US embassy people didn't do a good job with all the documents, so we had to return. For the price, this is a very nice hotel. The staff were all really nice and helpful, from the cleaning ladies and kitchen guy to reception. I went for tea numerous times and nobody bothered me. They helped out whenever needed. Breakfast was very nice for what the hotel charges, with boiled eggs, salads, sandwiches, deserts, tea and coffee. I've stayed in nice and luxury hotels, so I know what I'm comparing it with. The location gets 5 stars. The train station is a 10 minute walk away, the foreign embassies are 7 minutes by taxi, and there's a big Bazar just a 5 minute walk from the hotel. The rooms get 5 stars too. Sure, I've stayed at luxury hotels, but for the price the rooms are good. They have TV, AC, room service, and a balcony where you can smoke. Thank you so much, the Royal Deniz Hotel. Respect.

The younger receptionist was respectful. The older man at the desk was angry and extremely rude, and seemed interested only in getting money from customers. The young guy should be working reception instead.

The staff were helpful, and the room was roomy enough for three people. It was clean, and the rate was very reasonable.
