Adalya Ocean Deluxe

I was disappointed by the service here after having a great stay earlier this year at another hotel in the same chain in Antalya. This place feels dated, with worn furniture and a TV that looks like it came from the early 2000s, although the beds and mattresses seemed new. Rooms were cleaned daily, but the quality varied, and tipping didn't seem to make a difference. The biggest problem for me was communication. Most staff spoke Turkish or German, with very little English or Russian. Even simple requests were hard, and at times staff seemed to avoid me when they realized I didn't speak German. The hotel also caters heavily to older German couples, which shapes the entertainment and general atmosphere. The hotel itself is quite small, basically a pool with loungers, then the public promenade and beach. Food was underwhelming too: breakfast was extremely limited and not at a five-star level, lunch was only a little better, and dinner was the only meal that felt right for this category. Drink quality also depended a lot on which bartender made it. Evenings were quiet, with bingo, some average live music, and a short dance program that ended at 23:00. Nearby hotels kept going much later. This might suit someone looking for a very quiet, mostly German-speaking stay, but the language issues, weak breakfasts, and tired condition of the hotel mean I wouldn't return.

The entertainment was a real plus, with pool activities for both adults and kids from morning into the afternoon, lovely evening shows, and occasional beach parties. Even with all that going on, the hotel stayed peaceful and wasn't noisy. The location worked well too, with attractions nearby and the airport not too far away. The beach was very clean, and the drinks were good. Food had lots of variety and tasted great, especially the flavorful cakes. Staff were kind and always smiling, while the waiters were attentive and caring. The hotel was well organized and kept very clean. Its design is tasteful, the rooms look great and are in excellent condition, and the bathrooms are well equipped with towels in great shape. We had an amazing, memorable stay and will definitely come back.

Everything else here was perfect, but be careful with the photographers. I'm a photographer myself and wanted some pictures with my girlfriend because nobody else would take them for us. They quoted 1500€ for 50 photos, which felt totally unrealistic even for Germany, where wages are much higher. After negotiating, we paid 250€ for all our photos, around 350 of them, which was actually a pretty good price. They won't use those pictures anywhere else because we're in them. We didn't sign paperwork agreeing to a price, so we weren't obligated to pay.

The food choice and entertainment were both amazing. The entertainment team and mini club were the best I've ever experienced on holiday. Zeynep really stood out among the staff.
