We were traveling around Turkey in a group, and this was easily the worst place we stayed. The online photos gave a misleading impression. The idea of tiny individual houses in a garden is lovely, but the construction felt cheap and lots of things didn’t work. The room smelled of cigarettes, with burn marks on the furniture, unpleasant stains and an ashtray. The receptionist greeted the first person in our group while smoking, and showed a friend to her room with a cigarette in hand. The bathroom wasn’t clean either, had a strong sewage smell, and we didn’t want to shower there. A razor someone had left on the floor was still there. We booked six separate rooms and nobody was happy with theirs. After a storm, the area lost power; once things were back to normal, one room still had no working lights or air conditioning. Our friend couldn’t use the room. They said they’d move her after the rest of us arrived, so she waited in the dark and cold, since the air conditioner was being used as a heater. When we all got there, the receptionist said he didn’t want to change her room. We had to insist. After that, no one wanted to ask the hotel for anything because he was so unhelpful. A hotel in another part of the country shipped us a wallet one of our friends had left behind. The receptionist refused the package from the delivery person and didn’t tell us it had been sent. I only found out by asking. The hotel was also under construction, with work starting around 8 or 8:30 in the morning. Some friends were woken very early by the noise, and workers were smoking outside their rooms. There’s a restaurant with live music too, which made it hard for some of our group to sleep. The hotel is close to a water treatment center, so the surrounding smell is noticeable. Four friends didn’t speak Turkish, and nobody at the hotel spoke English, so I had to translate their requests. I don’t mind helping, but that wasn’t my job. We had booked and paid for five rooms for three nights, but after the second night we left and got the hell out without explaining why. I have more photos and videos. If the owners dispute what I’ve said, I’m willing to file a complaint with the officials.

Our little cabin was spotless, and staying in it felt like a fun change from an ordinary hotel. The place sits by a pomegranate orchard, with lovely mountain views. The concierge was friendly and really useful, ordering food and taxis and translating for us. The restaurants nearby were delicious and just as welcoming. I’d love to come back. Special thanks to Mehmet and Sara for being so kind and helpful.

We gave it two stars for the quiet atmosphere, garden and the fact that pets are allowed. The rest of our birthday stay was a letdown. The towels weren’t refreshed, there was little soap or tissue, no plate or spoon in the room, and the toilet paper had already been used. We’d asked before booking whether the jacuzzi worked, since it was the deciding factor for my wife’s birthday, and staff said it did. We were assigned Room 108, but the jacuzzi was filthy. We tried to clean it and start it, then it shut itself off after ten minutes. Reception said there was a switch problem. At 9 pm they called to say the hotel’s main electric switch was in our room and they urgently needed to work on it. It was unpleasant, so we moved to Room 101, which smelled strongly of cigarettes. That jacuzzi had hair and mess in it too. We cleaned it ourselves, but it stopped again after ten minutes. We were told to press a switch on an electric panel somewhere at the back of the garden. After a few tries, we gave up. It wasn’t the cheapest place or the most expensive, but for a birthday stay you might expect a kind word or perhaps a complimentary fruit plate. We don’t usually look for extras, but the basics were lacking.

The pictures make the place look better than it is. Our bungalow wasn’t fully clean, there was a horrible pipe smell in the toilet, and the jacuzzi looked like it had never been cleaned. The sofa was wrecked, breakfast was very poor, and there were cigarette butts all over the garden.

The private garden and tiny house are a beautiful idea, and the place looks lovely. We liked the breakfast service and the staff were very nice. But our shower was quite cold and the jacuzzi didn’t work. They moved us to another garden for our second night so we could use a working jacuzzi, but that one was ice cold too, so we couldn’t use it. We booked two nights and left with a sense that the place has potential, though these issues are worth knowing about.
