Erdem Hotel

For 3 nights, I never found coffee at breakfast. The breakfast itself was very basic, with boiled eggs and cold items like salads and cheese. I also left my jacket in the room, and 3 days later they told me they hadn’t found it. That was really sad. The suite cost around 100€ and was in decent condition, though some renovation wouldn’t hurt. Every day there was an unexplained puddle of water in my bathroom.

Mesut was really friendly and responsive, even though we had to communicate through google translate. The location was perfect, right by the beach, restaurants, and a supermarket.

The room was spacious, but the AC was too small for it, and breakfast was below average. The location is amazing, right by the beach, with all kinds of shops under the building. For what we paid, it didn’t seem worth it.

The rooms and breakfast were pretty standard, but the location was great and the hotel staff were lovely and accommodating. I also had spa treatments with Zelda/Selda, unsure of the spelling, and she was lovely. The trouble was the male spa manager. Before booking, I went to the spa reception twice to ask about packages and prices. We agreed on the treatments and cost, and I checked that card payment was accepted. After the relaxing treatments, I was told there’d be an extra amount for “card commission.” I explained this hadn’t been mentioned beforehand to the female front of house / manager, who spoke English well and understood. The male manager didn’t speak English, but kept shouting at me to pay the “full price,” which was more than we’d agreed. I said I would have taken out more cash if they’d told me earlier, but it was the last day of my holiday and I didn’t have enough cash. I refused to pay more by card than the amount we’d discussed and agreed in detail. He kept shouting and gesticulating aggressively. I felt he was trying to bully me into paying more, and wondered if he might often overwhelm young female travellers this way. The female employees stayed calm and seemed to understand my point. That one person ruined an otherwise lovely, relaxing holiday on its last day. I could never recommend this spa because of him.
