Rega Otel

We loved the quiet surroundings and could enjoy some fresh air from the balcony. Our family room had a kitchenette with all the utensils we needed, a comfortable sofa, and air conditioning. The hosts were welcoming and always willing to help. It’s about a five-minute walk to the beach, and there’s fast, free Wi-Fi, so working remotely was possible too. We’re looking forward to coming back this summer.

The location is handy, very close to the seafront, and the staff were warm and welcoming. Our grandmother especially enjoyed chatting with the guys at reception. The hotel is modern, with generous rooms that have balconies and two bathrooms, each with a toilet. Breakfast was fresh and continental, and the canteen had unlimited tea and coffee.

The owners work at Rega Hotel and greeted guests in English with almost no accent, which was a positive point. But the room had several problems that fell short of what I’d expect from a three-star hotel. There were cracks in the wall, electrical issues that could damage personal electronics, and a broken hairdryer handle that made it hard to use. The bathroom had a large patch of mold, and the room’s clothes hanger was in poor condition. Compared with similar hotels, the furniture felt older and less functional. Management should address these repairs and the sanitation issues so guests can stay more comfortably.

For me, it was a 2.5/5. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the area felt safe and was fairly quiet, and getting around was easy: there’s a nearby bus stop and a direct bus from the airport. The long beach, corner shops, and restaurants are also within reach. My bed was clean and comfortable, and the room AC could also heat, which was useful in December 2024. Wi-Fi was fine aside from a couple of dropouts. The breakfast was limited but passable, and nobody cleaned the room during my stay. The main problem was a terrible sewer smell in the shower and toilet that lasted all three days. They said rain causes it. The shower and toilet area was tiny and dated, and it could have been cleaned better, as could the area around the kitchen sink. The bathroom sink tap was loose. Hot water was only lukewarm from time to time, and seemed to depend on sunshine. There was no soundproofing, though the location itself was relatively quiet. I feel bad leaving negative feedback because the staff were so nice, but this is an honest account.
