The beach was bad.

We left without spending the night, almost as if fleeing, and went to the neighboring hotel. Thankfully, that hotel exceeded our expectations. It’s upsetting that we may have sent so many families into a bad situation. Don’t be fooled by the exterior photos of Yaşmak Hotel as we were, or embarrass yourself like we did. We had booked five rooms two months ahead after speaking with the manager, Mr. Kasım. When we arrived, our whole group had to clean the rooms, bathrooms, and furniture ourselves. The bedding was old, faded, and seemed poorly washed, and I didn’t want to touch the bed. The walls were covered in fly blood. We used half a box of Sleepy towels just to wipe cupboards, the fridge, doors, and other surfaces. The cupboards were rusty inside, the rooms smelled damp from not being aired out, and I didn’t even want to touch the doorknobs. There was no towel service, and they told us to go to the neighboring hotel for dinner. The beach was crowded because people from outside were renting sunbeds. We’d raised the bad reviews on the phone, and were told they were about the old management, that the place was now Grand Yaşmak and renovated. We felt completely misled. I don’t understand how they couldn’t properly clean and prepare five rooms when they’d known about our booking for two months.

We went with three friends and were really pleased. The new owners took such good care of us, and the location is lovely, right on the beach, with a women-only pool. It’s a quiet, beautiful family guesthouse and a great place to relax. The rooms have a few small shortcomings, but we didn’t mind because the owners treated us so well. I’m sure they’ll sort those things out over time. We’re so glad we went, and thank you for everything.
