Melanj Airport Hotel

The room was overheated in winter even with the heater off, and the floor heating couldn’t be controlled. I was shown two rooms that looked nothing like the photos. They charged me 10% extra when I paid by card. I also got no help finding a taxi to the bus, only an expensive taxi to Istanbul. They said the bus stop cost the same. Don’t book here if you want to avoid a huge transport bill.

For our family of four, this clean, comfortable and affordable hotel was just what we needed during a long 20-hour layover in Istanbul. The simple rooms were clean, the beds were comfortable, and the location was convenient. The €20 shuttle to and from the airport made everything easier. The room key was fragile and broke. At first, the receptionist or manager asked us to pay for it, but when we explained what happened and that we’d had to sleep without a proper lock, he understood quickly and sorted it out without charging us. A good choice for a short stay near Istanbul Airport.

We paid in full for a reservation, but when we arrived, the hotel had given our room to someone else. They offered no solution, even though it was their mistake. It felt as if they had ignored our booking and handed the room to a walk-in guest. The staff were incompetent, indifferent and unprofessional. There was no apology or attempt to make up for the trouble. If you want to waste your money and have a terrible experience, choose this place. Otherwise, stay away.

The reception staff were really nice and helpful to me. I’m glad I picked this very nice hotel, and I’d definitely book it again.
