Solin Hotel İstanbul Airport

I spent one night here during a transit. The room was cozy, very clean, and fairly spacious. The main drawback is the aircraft noise, since so many flights take off in this area. The hotel and nearby places are on a steep slope too, so getting to the bus may mean a bit of a walk.

We booked a twin room but were first given a single. In the replacement room, the toilet seat wasn’t fixed to the pedestal, and the shower head sprayed water all over until I tightened it. After that, water just poured out. The basin tap only worked on a trickle, otherwise it sprayed around the bathroom, and there was no hot water at the basin. Half the room lights were out, the TV had no signal, and the kettle lid was broken and fell off. The queen bed sheet was torn at one corner and too small, possibly meant for a double. It should have been obvious when the bed was made. There was no housekeeping, rubbish collection, or change of sheets and towels. We got tea bags but no drinking water or cups. I told the reception clerk, who apologized but only made excuses and fixed nothing. The elevator broke down and was still out the next day. On one day the power kept switching off and on, as if the circuits were tripping. No information was given. Don’t stay here.

The staff were very friendly, and the windows kept the room surprisingly quiet given how close the airport is. It’s a great location for the airport. Highly recommend.

My room was clean and a good size for the price, and the staff were friendly. I think this is a very good hotel and would recommend it. It could be a good choice for you too.
