I can’t think of anywhere else with this kind of rule. We stopped by at 14:00, when the place was quite empty, and asked for coffee and drinks from the menu. The waiter said they wouldn’t serve drinks unless we ordered food because that was their concept. We left without ordering anything, and the way they treated us was unpleasant. If they only opened in the evening, I could understand it as a dinner place. But they were open in the afternoon, and we only wanted drinks. I didn’t stay at the hotel, so this rating is about the restaurant.

It gets really busy, but the staff work well as a team and are attentive to each customer. There’s also a playroom for children inside. They have a good range of food, especially if you’re having rakı. It’s a bit pricey, but worth it.

The Hatay breakfast was wonderful, with everything fresh and served in just the right portions. The place feels businesslike rather than trendy, but it’s right across from the sea, with a pleasant view and atmosphere. It costs a little more than nearby alternatives, though I thought it was worth it.

The Adana kebab was legendary, the best I’ve ever had. The mixed grill was great too, as were the Bafra kıymalı and kuşbaşı pide. The boutique hotel is professionally run, with clean rooms and a good atmosphere. Special thanks to the management, staff, and head chef.

I have a small dog, a Chivava, in a bag. The waiters saw him, and after we sat down to order, they told us to leave because dogs weren’t allowed. That was disrespectful and not a decent way to treat guests.
