Sofa Hotel

If a zero-star rating were possible, I’d give it. We were treated with terrible disrespect and felt taken advantage of as tourists. They overcharged us for transportation and wanted us to pay using an inflated exchange rate. Even after we paid, they refused to host us or let us into the hotel rooms we’d booked online. I was traveling with my mother, and he put the two of us out the door at around 10pm. The treatment and manipulation were awful. I’d never recommend this hotel or do this to anyone.

This little hotel in Avanos feels traditional and cosy, like stepping back in time. Its decor and collection of old artifacts are beautiful. It’s just off the main road, conveniently located in town, yet very quiet. We stayed two nights in accommodation for four. The rooms were clean and full of interesting old artifacts, the beds were comfortable, and the shower room was large and clean. The staff were polite and friendly. They helped us arrange a last-minute hot air balloon ride, suggested some good local restaurants, and let us check out late. Breakfast was really nice too.

The place felt cozy and thoughtfully designed, with lots of Turkish style throughout. It was clean, and everyone was friendly. The manager was always attentive and ready to help. Thanks for having us, I’d happily recommend it.

Breakfast was generous and tasty, and the setting is lovely, with views over Kızılırmak. I also really liked the hotel’s authentic architecture.
