The team are outstandingly friendly, and the hotel is spotless. There's a Turkish bath, or Hamam, in the basement, with different massage treatments. I loved staying here and will definitely come back. It's right on the beach in a small town next to the national park called Milli park, about 25 km from Kusadasi. The local bus takes around 45 minutes and costs €2. The rooms are very comfortable.

The room looked nice, but the shower and sink drained poorly, and the A/C in ours didn't work. The manager, Enver, was very rude. We had emailed to arrange airport pickup and received confirmation, but no car showed up. When we called, the hotel said there'd been a mix-up and they couldn't collect us. We were stranded an hour and a half away and ended up paying a taxi that charged three times as much. At the hotel, the manager said airport service wasn't an amenity and they'd only been trying to help, even though their website lists it. They also describe themselves as a spa hotel, but there's no spa. It's been under construction for the last two years, and the space is full of laundry and sheets. There's nothing luxurious about this hotel. Don't trust the photos online.

The view from the balcony was gorgeous, with lush nearby mountains that looked better than most of Turkey's barren ones, and a calm ocean. The town and surroundings were quiet and beautiful. The hotel was good value, with fresh, tasty food, polite and helpful staff, and new facilities. I enjoyed the stay more than I expected for what I paid, and highly recommend it.

The room views were fantastic, and the outdoor pool and lawn were pleasant. We also liked the food: the Turkish breakfast was great each morning, and the one dinner we managed to have there was good. Most staff outside management were lovely. Mili National Park is a short walk away, and swimming at Zeus cave was a highlight. We stayed at Maia from August 28 to September 2, 2024, and were excited about the trip. That didn’t last long. The airport pickup we had arranged through the hotel, and confirmed by email with marketing director Enver Beyazyuz, never arrived when we landed at 20:15. We had to take a taxi for the 1.5-hour ride. The driver went so fast that my wife burst into tears. The hotel paid the taxi fare after we arrived, but still charged us the full price for the transfer it had failed to provide. When we questioned that, Enver was hostile and dismissive. He said the transfer was handled by a third party, though we’d heard nothing from one, and that the taxi ride wasn’t a serious inconvenience. We were told we had to pay. The first room’s AC didn’t work, so we were moved well after midnight. Our friends were later put in that room and also had to move because the AC still wasn’t working. Much of the hotel, including the rooms, needs repair. One of the two elevators worked, and the parking area was filthy, with trash around the dumpsters. The hotel next door played club music all day and late into the night. The name promises luxury, a beach and a spa, but the spa was a construction zone, the so-called beach was a little sandbox by the water, and the dock was a rusty metal hazard. They were still offering spa services, though it wasn’t clear how those were being provided. Maia Luxury Beach Hotel & Spa could have been a five-star place, but our experience felt closer to two stars. We left very disappointed and won’t return or recommend it.

I only came for breakfast and a day by the beach and pool, but left after eating. The staff were sweet and the facilities looked clean. Still, the materials and workmanship felt cheap, and the interior didn’t live up to the luxury image. It’s an okay three-star hotel with a wannabe bohemian vibe and a nice Instagram presence, but it isn’t a luxury hotel.
