I’d stayed here several times before, and on my first visit I even remarked on how clean it was. This last stay was the opposite: filthy, disgusting, and I could barely make it through one night. The bed felt like a breeding ground for disease, and the room reeked of cigarette smoke. I’d never stay here again.

Don’t be tempted by the low price. The rooms are awful, packed with as many beds as possible. Some don’t even have a toilet, meaning the whole floor has to share a sink, and in most rooms there isn’t hot water for a shower. The breakfasts are bad every time.

I called before setting off, and they were clear that the restroom and bathroom were shared. The photos matched what was there, so nothing was hidden or a surprise. They don’t present themselves as a four-star hotel, and at a quarter of that price, I don’t think it’s fair to expect four-star service or criticize the people working there. What matters is whether the price and service are balanced. My own room was very clean, and the armchair was comfortable. It’s a quiet, peaceful boutique hotel, with birdsong when you open the window and a lovely city view. Pets are welcome, which is a plus. I only wish there had been a mirror, even a small one.

We booked a family room for a day, but I can hardly imagine anywhere dirtier. The bathroom sink, hair in the drain, and the general filth were all awful. We just managed to get through the day and leave. I really can’t recommend it.
