Konak Pension

For 30 TL, I stayed in a single room on April 25th, and the price was very reasonable. The upstairs shower was clean and spacious, though shared. The room door was left open, so noise came straight in.

The rooms are just okay, and the price is the one reasonable thing about them. If they charged more, I doubt anyone would stay. The walls are thin, and you can hear people walking in the hallway; guests slam the doors, so I couldn't sleep comfortably. There was no toilet paper in the bathroom, either. The TV was old and used an old-fashioned antenna. I was hoping it wouldn't damage my eyes.

The two young men who take turns working there were both kind and helpful whenever I needed something. I slept fine, since the guesthouse was quiet, and the old bed was acceptable. The room doors were old, but noise wasn't really an issue for me. They cleaned my room before I checked in and gave me clean blankets and sheets. The room had no air conditioning, although the online booking said it did. It was summer, but I didn't mind much. The toilet and bathroom were together, and it wasn't as dirty as people had made it sound. There was no toilet paper or sink soap, but I'd brought my own, so that was okay. I think there's a kitchen, though I didn't need it because I ate out. You can also order food from outside. For 40 TL a night, it was good value. Nothing was perfect, but it was all acceptable.

The place wasn't clean, and the staff were completely unhelpful. The toilet and shower share one space, so you can't use the toilet right after someone showers, and it smells terrible. Air conditioning didn't work in every room. The TVs had no remotes, so you had to change channels by hand. I definitely won't stay there again.
