The good points first: it’s easy to get around on foot, the location is good, the front desk girls were great, and the AC worked. There’s street parking when you can find a space. The adjoining coffee shop is shared with the hotel, so expect noise until midnight. Breakfast was acceptable, though not at the level of a 3-4 hotel. Room 301 should not be used unless there’s no other option. In order of importance, the windows don’t close, the curtains don’t darken the room, and the shower is tiny, about 2x2. There are four sets of fabric curtains, but the neon light outside still comes in. The windows also let in noise, and smoke from people smoking three floors below made the room smell. Both rooms were loud; the insulation needs work, maybe spray foam. The bed was acceptable for a 2-3 hotel. I was moved to the fourth floor. That mostly solved the darkness, but not the noise. I could still hear every car, dog, and conversation. The second room had a shower an adult could fit in, windows that shut, and a real bed, so it was a little above backpacker or hostel level, though it still had cheap, lightweight, light-colored fabric curtains. The WiFi worked for my phone, but not for the VPN on my work computer, which I need because I work a few hours every day. Management should refund guests who say the hotel isn’t suitable and need to move. I even offered to let them keep a third of the payment, since I had showered and spent about two hours in the room. I probably should have changed hotels, but it was 10p, I was mostly settled in, and I was leaving in the morning. I uploaded two pictures and videos.

A lovely place to stay, with very friendly staff, clean, spacious rooms, and a tasty buffet breakfast included. The hotel has a great coffee shop and workplace attached, and sits at the start of Aydin center on a lively street. Minibuses are nearby, with interesting shops and places to eat all around. Walk a little farther along the main road, to the right when facing the street, and you’ll come to a pretty mosque and a romantic, decorated square lit up in the evening. People young and old gather around the big fountain, play or cycle in the square, and there’s even a piano you can play with your feet. The railway station is in the small street by the mosque. Keep going along the main road and you’ll reach another, cozier, more historic center, with lots of good food, different coffees and teas, and ice cream.

The price is good and the hotel is right in the city center. Our room was fairly spacious, and I liked the bathroom design, but it felt slippery and a bit dangerous. I couldn’t get a good rest after our long trip because sound carries so easily: I could hear people walking above us, cars from the street, and guests in the next room. The lift is tiny, and so is the door in front of reception.

I’ve traveled all over the world and haven’t had better service. Arid & Ummuhan were so helpful, especially with the Turkey travel advice I needed. They even sorted out bus tickets and times, everything. If you’re in Aydin, stay here.

The location is superb and the hotel is great. Breakfast gets repetitive, but it tastes good, and the Turkish tea is yummy. Not all the employees speak English, and even those who do aren’t very good at it. Google Translate helps.
