Gamirasu Village House

I tried Gamirasu Junior for the first time before staying in Gamirasu Cave, and it was just as good. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for somewhere peaceful.

Akın, whom we first spoke with by phone, and Mustafa, who welcomed us at reception, were very informative. The room design was good, but the pool room didn't appeal much, and the pool wasn't really big enough for swimming. I'd suggest a more spacious room on a higher floor. The pool itself was warm, clean, and usable. Its area was large, high-ceilinged, and enclosed with glass, so the room didn't get too humid. The air conditioning didn't work, though, and the toilet door wouldn't close. We were about 15-20 minutes from central Ürgüp in a remote village, which was a drawback. Breakfast was at the Gamira Hotel, a 3-4 minute drive away. We slept after our flight and called around 10:30, but were told breakfast had ended and we couldn't have any. The hotel in the same area seemed nicer and more organized, so booking a room there makes more sense if being far from the center isn't an issue.

We stayed in a pool room, and I've never regretted a choice like that before. We didn't leave only because I couldn't bring myself to head straight home. The bed sagged, and the bathroom had ants and lizards chasing each other. There were only two or three bottles of water and some tea, and the refrigerator was empty. We paid 11,000 TL and expected some care, but didn't get it. The pool was meant to be warm, but the man showing us around had wet shoes on and we couldn't understand what he was saying. He was filling the shower with water from a hose brought in from outside. When I asked how long it would take, he said half an hour. It was only lukewarm by 10 p.m. Nobody brought anything when we asked. The listing said bed and breakfast, but there was no breakfast. In the morning, no one checked on us or helped before we left. At least someone could have come to see if we were alive or dead. The room wasn't quiet either, you could hear people talking. We had a ridiculous stay, and I was shocked in the morning ☺️.

The breakfast was excellent at the larger hotel, just 200 meters away. We arrived a little early, so they let us wait there while our cave room was being cleaned. The room captured the spirit of the city, and the staff were friendly and attentive. We later saw the pool being cleaned and refilled. When we asked them to top it up after we settled in, they kept it filled with hot water throughout our two-day stay. The jacuzzi worked perfectly. If you're looking to relax and get away from it all, this is a good choice. Thanks for everything.
