Halic Park Ayvalik
About this property
This magnificent hotel enjoys a fabulous location on a small island between the mainland and the lovely Cunda Island, all connected by a causeway. The fishing town of Ayvalik is 4 km away and the hotel is conveniently located for visiting the many ancient sites in the vicinity such as Pergamon and Asos, 50 and 80 km away respectively. There are shops, restaurants and bars 2 km from the hotel and a bus stop in front of the hotel. The hotel is set in spacious grounds with a lovely garden and decked terrace overlooking the beach. It offers guests a wide range of amenities, from restaurants to shops. Younger guests can let off steam in the children's playground or kids' club. Guests may also take advantage of the conference facilities and car park. The rooms are comfortably furnished and offer modern amenities with air conditioning, laminated flooring and an en suite bathroom.

School groups seemed to take over the hotel, which claims to be five-star but felt more like a youth hostel. The children, many of them 10 or older, rudely rushed the buffet, screamed, ran around, partied in their rooms, and slammed doors. Their supervisors didn’t seem to care. I complained to reception several times, but there was no real improvement, and management appeared to favor the young guests. The manager even said the schoolchildren wanted to stay in a five-star hotel, as if kids that age already knew the difference from a youth hostel. Never again at this hotel chain.

The AC was stuck on heat, leaving the room at 27.5C. As for food, you’ll survive, but there wasn’t even free water at dinner or complimentary water in the room. Service? Nope. Five stars? Yeah, sure, whatever.

The food was amazing, the rooms and other facilities were clean, and the staff were super kind.

We really enjoyed our recent stay at Haliç Park Hotel. It’s an all-inclusive hotel right on the sea, with a great-sized swimming pool and quiet, comfortable surroundings. The food was very good, and the staff were friendly and knew their stuff. We’d recommend this five-star hotel to everyone. Thanks to the management and staff of Haliç Park Ayvalık.

The staff worked hard and were very polite, and the location was fantastic, with a panoramic view. There was lots of food at this all-inclusive hotel, and both the quality and variety were very good. We loved the burgers at the pool bar. The main letdown was that some food, especially the barbecue, wasn’t always warm. The building is quite old and needs some updating. I also noticed the bar glasses were only given a slapdash clean, probably because they were short-staffed. I didn’t expect to see that.
