Epic Hotel

The carpets throughout the hotel were visibly dirty, and when the air conditioning was switched on it gave off a strong, unpleasant smell. One of the room lights didn’t work, adding to how unwelcoming the place felt. In the bathroom, the shower head and fittings were covered in mold and heavy limescale, and the shower area was dirty and poorly maintained. The bedside table had nails and damage that posed a safety risk, and the room and bathroom were generally unclean. The condition was far below what the website images and description had led us to expect. We felt unsafe and uncomfortable, so we had to book somewhere else immediately for the rest of the holiday. Doesn’t even deserve one star. DO NOT BOOK.

Our family of six stayed at Epic Hotel in Marmaris for five days, and the experience was appalling from the start. We had requested three rooms together, but they were scattered across the hotel: two on opposite sides of the second floor, and the third on the fourth. The hotel was in a shocking state, with filthy carpets throughout that clearly hadn’t been cleaned in years. We raised it with reception, where staff could communicate with us only through Google Translate. They said complaints had gone to the manager, but nothing was done. The manager was rude and dismissive, and none of the reception staff spoke English, which made everything frustrating. Our room had broken light switches and drawer handles. The air conditioning leaked for four straight days despite repeated reports, and nobody fixed it. We had to turn it off and sleep in the heat. There was no way to contact reception except by walking down each time. Breakfast was sparse and unappetizing, so every morning we had to go out and pay for food. The towel rules were frustrating too. We respected the instruction not to take room towels to the pool, but when we asked for pool towels, staff rudely said we should have brought our own. The booking information never mentioned that. Cleaning was almost nonexistent. The rooms were cleaned once, sheets and towels were never changed, and there were no bedroom bins. They provided no drinking water, tea or coffee facilities, and we were told the in-room safe cost extra per day. This was one of the worst hotel stays we’ve had. The cleanliness, service and hospitality were unacceptable. I wouldn’t recommend Epic Hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable or enjoyable stay in Marmaris.

Ali at reception was phenomenal, friendly and polite, and the rest of the team made my stay better too, from the manager and servers to the maids. They helped me so much and gave me lovely, useful advice. The food was excellent, and the rooms and towels were clean. I want to thank all the wonderful people at Epic Hotel publicly. The rooms were comfortable and modern, and the air conditioning worked wonders. The pool was clean and all the staff were friendly, so I had a lovely stay and would use this hotel again. You get what you pay for, so don’t expect a five-star hotel at a three-star price.
