Good breakfast, friendly staff, and nice rooms.

Really great.

The location was convenient, the place was clean, and our first-floor room looked out at a windmill, which was a nice touch. But breakfast was a letdown. We picked the hotel because reviews praised it, especially the breakfast, yet the selection and portions were so small that we left hungry both mornings. The soundproofing was poor too, though that seems common in boutique hotels.

Room 1 was the real problem. It's next to reception, so there was lots of noise from people coming and going in the evenings, plus people smoking outside the door. The walls seemed to let everything through, including the night attendant shouting while livestreaming. There were serious hygiene issues in the room, and seeing rust on the shower head put me off giving a higher rating. I wouldn't recommend staying in that room at all. We asked to move, but the hotel was full, so we had to put up with it for all 3 days. The staff tried their best to make up for things, but that didn't fix the room's problems. The location was great, service was good, and breakfast was very good, but the hygiene needs attention. Don't assume the ratings tell the whole story; the other rooms may well be better. The price was higher than the Hilton, and I was surprised to see it cut in half the week after we checked out. It felt like they were charging whatever they could during the season.
