The owners and staff were very friendly when we arrived, and we liked how they treated us. But the room had a door that was hard to open and shut, and we struggled to lock it every time we went in or out. The hotel seems very old and unrenovated, or the work was done carelessly. Plaster is coming off in lots of places, the room smells damp and moldy, and in the morning we woke up covered in white wall debris, as shown in the photos. The air conditioner kept leaking, leaving the balcony wet all the time. The bathroom looked clean, but the walls had the same problem. We couldn’t even use the hairdryer: when we turned it on, bits of plaster from the ceiling fell on our heads and got everything dirty. We were told there was a private beach, and were given two wristbands at check-in. We went there to relax on the first day, but it was no different from a public beach. They said it wasn’t active, yet people brought their own umbrellas and made tea in a samovar. We chose the hotel specifically for a private beach, but there wasn’t one. If you’re going for the beach, don’t bother. At checkout, we asked for help extending our stay, but they charged us for 12 hours when we only needed two. I didn’t like that. The one redeeming point was the staff’s friendly and respectful manner.

The rooms were clean and renovated, the view was lovely, and the sea was calm. The hotel is right on the beach, with sunbeds and umbrellas available there through the hotel. Check-out at 12 worked well for us. They don’t have a car park, though there are plenty of spots nearby, along the road and right next to the hotel. We’d stay again if we return. The only issue was the slow response: we requested something and didn’t hear back. We didn’t book breakfast, so I can’t comment on the food.

The shower and beds are new, and the beds were clean. Rooms are clean too, with nice balconies. It’s in a very good location and Mulka Hotel is good value for money. Breakfast was sufficient, though a bit more variety would be nice.
