Ege Vadi Otel

We were very pleased with our stay at the Ege Vadi Hotel in Ayvalık. The breakfast was delicious and filling, with a good enough variety. There was parking, so we had no parking problems, and the hotel's location made it easy to get to many city and island attractions. The cleanliness of the hotel and rooms was particularly well done, and the owners were very welcoming. Thanks for sharing evening tea with us! :)

For a five-day stay, this place was poor value for money, and I wouldn't recommend it. We chose it based on Google reviews, but it didn't meet our expectations. The breakfast was inadequate for a hotel, with no hot items, and as someone who has stayed in many hotels, I'd say this felt more like a guesthouse. To me, a proper hotel needs staff trained in tourism and hospitality who are suited to service work, and with the current staff that seems very difficult. We invited friends to stay here and ended up embarrassed. Customer relations and problem-solving need a lot of work. Whatever the issue, managers shouldn't go to a guest's door to argue or demand they leave. They should offer options and let the guest choose. That approach was very unprofessional, especially since guests' contact details are in their rooms and they can be called. There was also a cleaning arrangement we hadn't encountered at other hotels: leaving the cleaning card on the door wasn't enough, we had to tell the lobby. We only found out when we came back to the hotel in the evening. If that's the establishment's policy, it should be explained when guests arrive.

We were glad we chose this hotel for the final two nights of our week around the Aegean. The room had plenty of space, and both it and the rest of the hotel were very clean. Breakfast had fresh buffet items, and the lemonade was a particular favorite. We drove, so the lack of tourist spots within walking distance didn't bother us; avoiding parking hassles mattered more. There's a beach you can walk to, though we didn't visit it. We'd recommend the place.

Breakfast had much more than the usual basics, with things like cake, cookies, granola, milk, and lemonade, and there was plenty each morning. Parking was easy for us. The rooms felt generous for the price and had enough closet space. Cleanliness matters a lot to me, and the hotel did well there, perhaps helped by being newly opened.
