Kural Pansiyon

I really regret staying here. The room smelled strongly of cigarette smoke, which had soaked in, and air freshener had been sprayed to cover it up. Everything in the bathroom seemed ready to fall apart, and things came loose when I touched them. The furniture was broken and worn, and the place was so dirty and cluttered it made me feel sick. We stayed as a family on the night of September 30th. I paid 1200₺ for a three-person room for one night, and it wasn't worth even 500₺. This was the worst place I've ever stayed.

During our long business trip to Ayvalık, Mr. Adnan's helpful and positive manner reassured us that choosing Kural Guesthouse had been the right call. A friend had recommended him, and the guesthouse's central location was another plus. We were very happy with the cleaning during our stay, as well as the restaurants and shops he suggested. We'll definitely choose Kural Guesthouse for our summer holiday. See you again, take care, and wishing you good business, Mr. Adnan.

The air conditioning worked well, but there was no fridge in our room. I think it may have been shared, though I'm not sure. The toilet wasn't pleasant and wouldn't flush, so I had to fill a bucket from the tap and pour water into it. There was just a bed and wardrobe, with no TV, hairdryer, or kettle. Towels and shampoo should have been in the room without me having to ask, especially for a stay that costs this much. A standard double room was 2000 TL, but we paid 2500 TL for a triple room. That's close to what a four-star hotel in Izmir costs. They asked us for money when we booked by phone, which may be fair if people sometimes don't show up, but the stay still fell short of what we expected. We only meant to spend the night, but it wasn't comfortable. I feel Ayvalık businesses are generally like this, so I can't really say more, but I wouldn't choose this place again.

We've known Adnan Bey for years from stopping by to buy pomegranate syrup and black mulberry extract and have a chat, so we finally decided to stay. He's still as friendly and helpful as ever. The building is old, like much of Ayvalık, and the bathroom is old too, but the rooms, bed, sheets, and bathroom are clean. I also liked that the doors lock with a key and have an extra lock on the inside, and the air conditioning works well. The location is right in the center, just behind the best taverns. You don't need a car if you're staying in the center and not heading to Cunda or elsewhere. Check out the healthy products in the shop downstairs.
