The friendly bar staff and cleaners were the only bright spots. The dining hall staff were awful and impolite, while management came across as unfriendly and constantly bothered. Customer service was poor, and the management team extremely rude. The food in the halls, which I can’t really call restaurants, was low quality and repetitive each day. The juice station smelled of old milk, which was really unpleasant. Entertainment was very limited. Our room was misleadingly advertised for four people. One of the beds was a pop-up cot, and there was barely room to move. Realistically, it would only just sleep two. The location was another problem: it’s not in Kemer or Antalya as implied, but in the middle of nowhere, and getting to the main cities costs a fortune. If you’re from the UK or only speak English, don’t expect much help. Germans seemed to be treated far better, and the difference in service was very noticeable.

The mountain scenery and views around the hotel were beautiful, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Still, I wouldn’t pay to stay here again. The beach was rocky and covered in pebbles. Food quality was very poor and choices limited. There was no children’s buffet or ice cream for kids, which isn’t acceptable for a family hotel. Many walls looked old, with peeling paint. The indoor pool was cold at 23°C, and one day its water was the same temperature as the sea. Especially in winter, this felt more like a three-star place than a five-star property. Activities were weak, and nearby there were only a couple of small shops with little else to do.

The bars had nice, friendly staff, and the older room service lady was especially helpful and kind. The black lady serving in the dining area was friendly too, and Aisha at the kids club was fantastic. Our child loved spending time with her at the club and mini disco. Overall, we had a good stay, though I’ve been to better hotels in Turkey for the same price. The hotel was okay but showed its age. Food and choice were nice, but for a place claiming five stars, the mini bar wasn’t refilled every day and didn’t contain alcohol. Staff were a mixed bag: some really kind, others arrogant and rude, including some dining area staff and the receptionist. It was 29 degrees in our room at night and the air conditioning wouldn’t work. Staff said it wouldn’t be turned on unless it was 26 degrees outside. I didn’t care about the temperature outdoors, the room was too hot to sleep in. Opening the window wasn’t an option because of loud music and shouting from the nearby mosque. The tall animation guy tried to talk to the children, but our baby got upset and started crying. When he was kindly asked to stop interacting with the child, he became rude and aggressive instead. I also enjoyed having more European guests than Russians, which is unusual for hotels in this region but was very pleasing.

Bed bugs in our room were the worst part of the stay, and something that should never happen in any hotel, especially one selling itself as a high-quality resort. We had one of our worst travel experiences here and I can’t recommend “Catamaran Quality Times”. The food barely changed throughout our stay. The late-night meal was just bread with ham, which is unacceptable for a hotel of this supposed standard. The air conditioning was off because we were told it was “turned off outside the season,” leaving the room sauna-hot and impossible to rest in. An open window didn’t help: loud music played late, and the hotel is right beside a mosque, so the amplified call to prayer woke guests from around 6:00 AM. Most staff were arrogant and unfriendly; the manager and the club DJ were especially rude and disrespectful. The conditions, service, and experience left a lot to be desired. If comfort, good service, and a peaceful holiday matter to you, choose somewhere else.

There was little to do and the food was awful, sometimes with only a couple of options. I know it wasn’t the busy season, but that’s no excuse for preparing food so poorly at a hotel. I’ve been to Antalya almost every year, and tried New Place for my honeymoon this time. It was definitely my worst hotel experience. Nobody welcomed us when we arrived. I asked to have the room decorated for honeymooners, but it wasn’t anything special. There wasn’t even bottled water in the room. The front desk said that was unusual, yet I didn’t get any during the whole week. I’d suggest avoiding a stay longer than a couple of days, as you may regret it. Unfortunately, I couldn’t cancel.
