Tal Beach Hotel

For a family holiday in Antalya, choosing this hotel makes sense. The owner is respectful and kind to guests, and the staff are friendly and cooperative. The price is the best part: for two people, a room with all inclusive costs between 3000 to 35000 TL per night. Only wine is free among alcoholic drinks, but it’s still a better choice than other hotels with sky-high prices, 19k to 34 k per night. It was a great experience and a very nice option for a vacation. I fully recommend it to foreigners.

We realized from day one that the hotel wasn't what we expected, and when I asked to cut our six-day booking down to four, they wouldn't refund the difference. Check the extra charges carefully: Wi-Fi is 1 euro per person per day, there's only one key for each room, and losing it costs 40 dollars. The bar runs from noon until 9 PM; after that, drinks cost extra, and beer is always paid. During our four days, our towels were never changed. Reception told me they usually do that within three days, but it didn't happen in our room. The balcony door kept sticking, the bed creaked and was uncomfortable, and the air conditioner would run for a few hours before stopping or changing the temperature by itself.

The pool was 1.50m deep all the way along, and in my seven days I never saw it cleaned. The dining room had no air conditioning, so eating in 37-degree heat was unpleasant; sitting outside with your plate didn't make much difference. The hotel is 50m from the beach, but the seabed is rocky and not very pleasant. The hotel's sunbeds and parasols were free for guests. Wi-Fi was 10$ for seven days and worked quite well. The rooms are dated, and the shower and toilet were terrible. At least each room had free air conditioning. Meals were bland and repetitive, with none of the distinctive Turkish food I expected. Apart from dry, chewy melon and watermelon, there was no fruit. Each breakfast, lunch and dinner buffet lasted exactly an hour, with no snacks between meals, so if you missed one you had to eat elsewhere. The all-inclusive alcohol was just red and white wine 😂. Beer cost 3$, there were no spirits, and tea and coffee were available. Staff spoke Russian well but didn't speak English. The so-called bar was where the music equipment sat, and Turkish staff played hard Turkish folk music about 90% of the time. I'd call this two stars at best, not three. Even at a reasonable price, I don't think it's worth it. I'd save a little more for a four-star place nearby or somewhere in Antalya.

Please don't bring children here. The place felt unsafe: fire alarms were broken, and around the pool there were cracked floor tiles, sharp rusty grid covers and missing grids by the children's pool. Sun loungers were broken, mattresses torn, and the floor was filthy. The outdoor shower was full of black slime, with no idea what might be in its drain and carried into the pool. The hotel was very run-down and dirty, and it is not all-inclusive. Our room had exposed wires at broken light switches, a filthy toilet and shower that weren't cleaned during our 10-day stay, and no fridge. The hotel bathroom was dirty too, with broken doors. Food was shocking. Breakfast had no juice, fresh fruit, yogurt, toaster or butter, just salad and an unidentifiable mush with no labels. Lunch and dinner were much the same, with no meat except the occasional cheap chicken part. At the bar there was no beer, spirits or cocktails, only watered-down pop and red or white wine that tasted like vinegar. There was no ice, and I was told to buy some at the shop. The outdoor seating was very uncomfortable at night. Most staff were very rude, except for two people at reception. Towels and bedding weren't changed. On day six I took them to reception and had to demand a change; the person questioned me, checked paperwork and the computer, and only then agreed. Disgusting. It was a holiday from hell, and I'd give the hotel zero if I could. I can provide photos as proof if anyone wants to see them.
