The bathroom was disgusting, and the place felt stuck in the 60s in just about every way. The wallpaper was torn, electrical sockets were dangling unsafely, much of the furniture was half-broken, and the curtains looked like they hadn't been cleaned or touched in decades. I wish we'd never stayed there. If I could give zero stars, I would.

I left a more detailed review on my other Google account. DO NOT USE THIS HOTEL. It had serious health, safety, and hygiene problems. We were shown three rooms, and only stayed because it was a public holiday and we were stuck. Even the third room was disgusting, as my photos show. The young receptionist tried her very best to please us, but that can't excuse a dirty and dangerous hotel. The bathroom was heavily stained and had limescale, a broken shower, bath, shelves, pipes, door, lock, and air vent. Nothing felt safe or clean. The room was dirty too, with wallpaper coming off, bare wires and cables that could hurt small fingers, large holes in the ceiling coving, a dangerous balcony, a TV that didn't work, and most lights out. The fridge worked but was dirty. We stayed two nights; the room wasn't cleaned and no fresh towels were offered. Breakfast was poor if you eat more than a tiny bird. We arrived at 9.15 am, within the stated 7 am to 10 am hours, and found three boiled eggs, a tomato that looked like it had been kicked around the kitchen floor, a few cucumber slices, poor quality honey with an odd taste, some cheap jar olives, dried feta, three slices of bread, and çai that was running out. That was all. I felt embarrassed carrying such a small amount back to my table. Then at 9.30 am staff sat at the table beside us and had fried eggs, salads, breads, cheeses, coffee, çai, and a huge feast. The staff looked guilty, as if they knew the hotel was badly run and were waiting for a complaint. When we raised something, they pointed fingers at someone else and said it wasn't their fault. I've stayed in over 50 hotels in Turkey, all economy grade, and this was the worst. Local public holidays left us with very limited options, and the one other place I found had reviews just as bad for triple the price. This hotel should be closed, refurbished, and checked by the authorities for hygiene and business conduct before reopening. After my trip, I plan to report it to the tourist minister and raise my concerns that it's a public health hazard and unfit for guests.

We'd read the earlier reviews and were a little alarmed, but thought surely they couldn't be that bad. We booked two nights because of our flight time from Izmir and needed somewhere to stay for business. The hotel was old, dark, and run-down, with wallpaper coming off and limescale problems. There were staffing issues, and local people hung around inside, causing mayhem and smoking everywhere. We were offered two shocking rooms, far beyond tolerable, then chose the third because local hotels were booked up for a public holiday. That room was disgusting too. We put up with a dirty, stained toilet, bath, shower, and walls, hoping breakfast might at least be good. At 9.15 am, with no other customers there, we found four hard-boiled eggs, 20 slices of soft cucumber, five tomato wedges that looked like they'd been kicked around the kitchen before being cut, olives, feta cheese, and honey that wasn't nice. There were three slices of bread, and the tea, çai, was nearly gone. It was beyond unacceptable. To rub it in, the staff sat at the opposite table feasting on fried eggs, cheeses, salad, bread, and much more. The staff atmosphere was poor. They seemed to know they were doing wrong and waited for complaints, but when we said something, they blamed someone else. I've stayed in more than 50 hotels around Turkey, and this was the worst. In my professional opinion, the premises should be closed, health warnings issued, and the owner fined. It shouldn't reopen until it has been fully refurbished and inspected again. This lets tourist hotels down and puts them to shame. Shame on you, Aside Hotel, for taking innocent people's money while running a place in such poor condition. These are my photos, taken on the day we left.
