Berksoy Hotel

We were here with a group. The beds were decent, and while the shower was small, it was okay overall. Breakfast was decent too.

The room was incredibly unappealing. The air conditioning didn’t work, it smelled strongly of cigarettes, and the beds felt like rocks. We ordered three beds, but reception somehow gave us only two. I’m sure I won’t ever come back.

Dinner at the restaurant was tasty, though breakfast was a bit of a letdown. There were no hot options like scrambled or omelette eggs, just soup as the one hot dish. The hotel is on the edge of the city, about a half-hour walk from town, with little nearby apart from a busy road, a mosque, and lots of traffic. The rooms were worn and somewhat dirty or dusty. Slippers were provided, which helped keep our feet off the carpets. Air came through the windows, and there was cigarette odor and noise from outside. The bed was somewhat hard, and the comforter was too small for it.

It took 45 minutes to get the room we’d already paid for. The place smelled strongly of cigarette smoke, the wifi didn’t work, and reception was slow. They moved me twice, and a technician had to be sent to fix the AC.
