Cotton Boutique Hotel 16+

The hotel manager deserves a compliment. He helped me arrange a place to film a live interview for the TV channel I was talking to about travel. I was hosted from Bodrum to share the secrets of getting good deals this summer. While setting up, I accidentally broke a table, and the manager handled the unexpected mishap positively. He’s a self-made young man with a wonderful outlook on life, and I enjoyed talking with him. They speak great English, and his smile and kindness are always there. I loved the cotton hotel and would like to return in winter. It has fewer than 20 rooms, so it feels more like a house. My balcony looked over the central pool in the courtyard. The room had AC, a cold shower that reached up to 35, and a large bed. Choosing a little distance from the bars in Bodrum’s entertainment center, where music goes on until dawn, was a good move for me. The hotel is an 18-minute walk from the sea and gave me peaceful nights. The neighborhood is residential, with a public park, children’s play equipment, and a river. I think it’ll be full of water in spring and fall. A main street, ismet imonuno, is five minutes away, with local food spots where neighborhood residents eat and few tourists. It’s also a seven-minute walk to the ruins of the ancient archaeological city. Don’t miss the sunset from there. You can climb the gate tower and see a wonderful view of Bodrum among stones thousands of years old. Cefar Pasha Street, my favorite, is easy to reach from there too, and it’s upscale without being very touristy. Reviewed 11th of june 2024 by ibrahim totanji. The rooms were clean and nice, and the staff were great. It’s a wonderful place, good value, and in a good location. It would be even better if breakfast started earlier.

The building is old, the bathrooms smell of mould, and the pool had a strange smell too. They only gave us our room key an hour after check-in. Breakfast was terrible, and the noise from its preparation started at 7 a.m. The building layout and breakfast area are the reasons for that. If I were managing the hotel, I’d rather sell rooms without breakfast than serve that awful meal. The married couple working there seemed well intentioned, but whether they belong in this line of work is another question. Apart from the Kazakhstani Turk, hardly anyone at the hotel seemed to smile. And honestly, Gümbet is a completely unnecessary place. Anyone going to Bodrum should be careful and stay away from it.
