Derin Suite Hotel

The apartment was modern, clean, and comfortable, apart from a few plumbing problems. The kitchen had enough for a pasta dinner, though it was limited, with no microwave. We also missed the basics like oil, salt, and pepper. We left condiments, cheese, and a few other things in room 112 for whoever came after us. There was no information folder in different languages about the area, restaurants, local services, or how things in the apartment work. We couldn’t get the TV apps going in English, even Netflix with our subscription. The pool was a real plus. With a bit more thought for basic guest needs, I’d rate it 8+; for me it was 6-7 out of 10. We spent a pleasant week here in early October 2025, although the weather was so-so and the location was much the same. Gumbet felt run-down, scruffy, and sad out of season. Maybe it suits the 18/30 crowd, but not so much more mature visitors; Bodrum and its peninsula are much better. Turkey used to be the cheap Eastern Mediterranean option, but sadly that’s less true now. The owners are lovely, as is their chubby Jack Russel, despite its habit of barking at ankles. Their English is only a little better than my Turkish, so it was a close call.

I stayed for 20 days and felt at home, almost like part of the family. The place is very clean and comfortable, the atmosphere is lovely, and Betty the dog is great fun. I played with her nearly every day. The pool gets cleaned daily, and the grounds are kept beautifully. The owners were extremely kind and helpful, and very accommodating. It’s a great place for a family or a couple wanting a romantic stay. This was my first trip to Turkey, and when I come back to Bodrum I’ll always stay at Derin Hotels. I wouldn’t even look at another hotel.

The hosts are lovely and always ready to help. The rooms have everything you need, and the place is very clean with a great pool. It’s in a quiet area, about five minutes from the beach and one minute from the shops. The dolmush stops right by the gate.

We arrived at 3 a.m. after a bad start to our holiday at another hotel, and felt comfortable and welcome straight away. The family showed us to our room and said we could sort things out in the morning. We stayed for the rest of our holiday and paid for four nights the next day. The apartment was beautiful and spotless. The family take real pride in running the place and are always cleaning; the amazing pool is crystal clear and cleaned daily. Our stay was peaceful and relaxing, with nothing to fault. It’s close to the beach, shops, and restaurants. We’ll definitely be back. Thanks for making our holiday so lovely.
