Salinas Beach Hotel Bodrum/Boutique Concept

Getting to the hotel was easy, and there were handy parking spaces nearby. Our room was very clean and comfortable, though for a double room there was only one chair. The beds were comfortable too, but when we asked for cleaning, staff only made them and didn’t change the sheets or linens. The first check-in felt confusing and not especially welcoming. Several guests were arriving at once, and the man at reception kept going between different entrances. We also couldn’t get slippers: reception said none were available, probably because the season had ended, and offered no alternative, so we had to wear our shoes in the room. Apart from shampoo, soap, and body lotion, there were no personal care items. I haven’t stayed at a hotel before that didn’t provide at least a basic toiletries set. It was mostly quiet, but very early on Monday morning, construction machinery beside our room woke us. We later found out management had decided to build a storage area, but the work shouldn’t have started so early. Breakfast offered a lot of choices, though many seemed aimed at foreign tourists. Sweet baked beans felt unusual for local guests, and the hot dishes were limited and not very tasty. The products could have been better quality too. We stayed five days but ate breakfast there only twice, choosing to eat elsewhere on the other days. The pool had dead insects, leaves, and other debris floating in it, so it clearly wasn’t being cleaned regularly. A path at the back leads straight to the beach, which was nice, but the sea was quite dirty because of the wind, and I wouldn’t recommend swimming there. At checkout, we struggled with our luggage because the layout has so many stairs and no alternative route or help was offered. The clean room and convenient location were good points, but service, comfort, and maintenance all need improvement.
