The one issue was the sound through the wooden floors. We were downstairs, and noise from above disturbed us, so next time we’ll ask for an upstairs room. We’ll definitely stay at By Zogu again. It’s an old Greek stone and wood house, and the architecture and atmosphere made our Bozcaada trip especially pleasant. Mr. Yasin was friendly and polite, and looked after us throughout. The property was clean and comfortable, with a great location where everything on the island felt close by. Breakfast was excellent too, both in taste and presentation, and better than we expected.

We found the room a reasonable size and as clean as it should be. One small treat I nearly forgot was the crisp holiday baklava. We missed out on the sarma, though! The hotel is easy to find in the central Greek quarter, on the same street as Meryem Ana Kilisesi and Madam'ın Kahvesi. The lane below has the meyhane scene, while our own street stays pleasantly quiet. For breakfast, we chose the owners’ other hotel, just a short morning walk away, and ate in the garden. We couldn’t get enough of the hotel owner's sister’s delicious börek, pişi, cake and cookies. The couple who own the hotel also joined us for breakfast and their conversation made it feel even nicer. If you’re driving to the island, there’s no hotel parking, and I wouldn’t recommend taking a car down the street. We drove and left ours in a parking lot nearby, then walked a short distance to the hotel.

The breakfast on the holiday morning felt like visiting our mother’s house. We were welcomed with stuffed grape leaves and baklava, and I still think about Aunt Sıdıka’s pastries and börek. I normally never eat breakfast, but I could have had three or five! We absolutely loved the food. The room was incredibly comfortable and spotless, and Mr. Yasin’s attention and conversation made us feel at home. Even on walks, my husband kept asking whether we had the house key 😊 Bozcaada now feels like home to us. Thank you for being there, beautiful family, and may you always be there 💖

We were offered either a breakfast plate in front of the hotel or a full spread in Eftalya Hotel’s garden, a six-minute walk away. We chose the garden, and coffee was included. Kerim and Yasin were friendly and answered all our questions. Our room was nice, with a few small issues that didn’t bother us. The hotel was close to everywhere we wanted to go. Thank you.
