We had a lovely stay at Bozcaada, thanks to Ahu and her family. The garden has lots of places to sit and relax, and breakfast is served on the terrace there. Each morning there was a big pot of tea, jams, cheeses, butter, bread and biscuits, plus something different like eggs, an omelet or mini pizza. A great way to start the day. The hotel is within walking distance of downtown, and there’s good parking for guests who arrive by car. We didn’t have a car. We enjoyed walking into town, sometimes picking up food and water at the supermarket before heading to the more remote parts of the island by shuttle bus or taxi. Other days we stayed downtown, exploring the ancient fortress, windmills, narrow streets in the Greek part of town, the small museum, and local restaurants. You can also swim in the sea near the fortress. It’s a cozy, relaxing place run by a family that really looks after you. The owner helped us book a table at a fish restaurant, find the best beaches and work out what else to see. She was always reachable on WhatsApp or by phone. Her family met us at the ferry and took us back there at the end of our stay. Our room was modern, with everything new and working properly. The air conditioner was quiet and placed away from the bed. The bed was comfortable, the shower room had enough places for towels and toiletries, and the room was very clean and well maintained.
