Şonef House Otel

Gül Hanım and Çisel Hanım made the stay especially pleasant. They were warm, sincere, professional, and attentive to what we needed, so we felt valued and at ease. The handcrafted breakfast was another treat, with fresh flavors and careful preparation. Şonef Hotel has an elegant design and a modern but warm feel; it was clean, well organized, and thoughtful in the details from the moment we arrived. We’d choose it again and are grateful to Gül Hanım and Çisel Hanım for their hospitality.

We stayed for the second and third days of the holiday. The location is good, but the air conditioner in our room wouldn’t work. When I asked, they said the units were broken and suggested leaving the window open. The area is busy, so the noise at night made that difficult. There wasn’t a toothbrush in the room either. When we mentioned it, they might just look at you blankly, as if they didn’t know what a toothbrush was, so be careful. A hotel or boutique hotel should have toothbrushes in the rooms or provide them on request. They served the cake left over from the first day again at breakfast on the second. The breakfast also used cheap products. If we’d known the service would be like this, we would have chosen a much more reasonably priced hotel in the city center converted from a house. We might have had better service there.

The view and location were a real highlight: the hotel looks out over the sea and sits right beside a historic castle, so we could walk to our destinations and come back easily. It was spotless, and the service was friendly. Gül Hanım, the owner, and her assistants Çisel and Yağmur Hanım were lovely. Gül Hanım told us how she turned a ruin into a beautiful hotel and about the difficulties along the way; the story really touched us. Breakfast was wonderful, especially Çisel Hanım's cakes. I was very pleased with our stay at Şonef House Hotel and will choose it again when I visit Bozcaada. Thanks for everything.

The hotel is right on the seafront in a central spot, directly across from the castle. It was spotless and peaceful, with a fantastic atmosphere and lovely places to take photos. We feel lucky we spent our honeymoon here. Ms. Çisel looked after us and told us about the building's 200-year history over a pleasant conversation. Hope to see you again! 🤗
