The lack of basic amenities was frustrating, but the way the receptionist handled it made the stay feel especially disrespectful. This is one of the worst hospitality experiences I've had, even compared with much cheaper hotels. I won't return to this hotel or any of its chains. The Wi-Fi didn't work. I tried several ways to connect, then asked reception for help. He said he had an Android phone and couldn't help because I use an iPhone. I was left with no solution. There wasn't even a toothbrush or toothpaste in the room. When I called to ask, he said they had none. It was late, and I didn't know where to buy one, so I asked. He seemed not to understand my English, said “my friend will come to you,” and confirmed my room number. After 20 minutes, no one had come. My husband went out to look, but the closest shops only sold food. I called again and said I was still waiting for the promised help. He replied, “Ma’am, I don’t understand what you’re saying.” Then he cut me off with “hang on,” which I later understood meant he wanted me to hang up. When I tried to clarify, he said, “Ma’am I haven’t tooth brush and I don’t know what you’re talking about. Good night.” I asked what he meant, and he just repeated, “I said good night.” Management, if you can't improve the amenities, please improve staff's basic English communication, or at least train them to show basic courtesy and respect. I'd have been fine with a simple apology and an explanation that you didn't have the items and weren't sure where to buy them nearby, with a suggestion to check in the morning. I might have been a little disappointed, but not enough to write this long review. The problem was how disrespectful the interaction felt, which isn't acceptable in ordinary human interaction, let alone hospitality. If you want hospitality like Karen’s Diner, this is the place.
