Artic hotel

We’d seen bad Google reviews, but lots of Malaysians on Facebook recommended this hotel, so we decided to try it. The cleanliness was great, and I have no complaints there. The receptionists, Mr. Ibrahim and Ms. Yasmine, were attentive and fun. Their English was above average for a country where English isn’t widely spoken. Breakfast was also a 10/10: a big spread of Turkish dishes and plenty of variety. I loved the white pudding, and my family enjoyed the capsicum tomato stew. I asked the chef at the cafe for milk and she gave me some. The Wi-Fi worked well in my room, though it was a little slow in my brother’s room. We were mostly there to sleep, so it didn’t bother us much. The location was very convenient, close to Sok, BIM, and other shops, as well as Ulu Camii’ and Kozahan. There’s a bus stand at Ulu Camii’ Ptt and a Dolmus Bus Stand nearby. If you’re Malaysian and use a Wise card, Ziraat ATM is close too. I loved all the drawings around the hotel!

Breakfast was a mess, with more than three dishes gone and no refills even as staff watched them run out. The bathrooms are very small, and the air conditioning in both of my rooms was very weak. When I asked the manager, he said there was no solution. I asked for a refund so I could stay somewhere else, but he refused. A horrible experience, stay away.

The room was very dusty and unclean, and the staff were no help. I don’t know what the room was worth, but there was nothing good about the service or the room. I saw a lower price in the system when I arrived, but the staff member just said that was his price and told me to leave if I didn’t like it. I’m paying for decent service, not disrespect. He then said I could book through the system. I said I didn’t want breakfast, and he told me to take it online. I’d come to the hotel and told him that was fine, but he still sent me online. What kind of staff is that? I felt disrespected, and he made comments about a particular nationality, saying they take over all the hotels. The staff knew I was a student and that I speak Turkish, but kept talking about tourism and those customers, as if trying to make me feel I was lying. I showed them, and then he said they had a room without breakfast. This is the worst hotel in Bursa, and the rooms are awful and dirty. I can’t believe how bad it was. I won’t stay there again over something so trivial.

I ended up switching rooms six times before finding one that was somewhat decent. Each room had a different problem, including issues with the internet, fridge, or air conditioning. I was also surprised by how difficult it was to communicate with the hotel employees providing service. It felt like talking to people who couldn’t hear me, which was really frustrating. This hotel doesn’t deserve even one star.
